How We Rate Telehealth Providers
Last Updated: April 15, 2026
ManyTreatments independently evaluates telehealth providers across 7 treatment categories. Our ratings are based on a weighted scoring system that prioritizes what matters most to patients: pricing transparency, medical team quality, treatment options, and real patient experiences.
Our Rating Scale (1-10)
Each provider receives an overall score from 1 to 10, calculated from five weighted categories. The score reflects our editorial assessment as of the most recent review date shown on each page.
| Score Range | Label | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 9.0 - 10.0 | Outstanding | Best-in-class across most or all scoring criteria |
| 8.5 - 8.9 | Excellent | Strong performer with minor gaps in one or two areas |
| 8.0 - 8.4 | Very Good | Solid option with some notable limitations |
| 7.0 - 7.9 | Good | Adequate for most users but significant trade-offs |
| Below 7.0 | Below Average | Notable concerns in multiple categories |
Five Scoring Categories
1. Pricing and Value (25% weight)
We evaluate the total cost of treatment, not just the advertised starting price. This includes consultation fees, medication costs, subscription charges, shipping fees, and any hidden costs. We also consider whether the provider accepts insurance, HSA/FSA, and whether pricing is transparent before sign-up.
- Starting price for primary treatment
- Monthly ongoing cost after introductory period
- Insurance, HSA/FSA acceptance
- Price transparency before committing
- Cancellation policy and refund terms
2. Medical Team and Consultation Quality (25% weight)
We assess the medical team behind each platform: whether consultations are with board-certified physicians or nurse practitioners, the depth of the initial evaluation, availability of follow-up appointments, and whether ongoing care is included or costs extra.
- Provider credentials (MD, DO, NP, PA)
- Consultation format (async vs video vs phone)
- Follow-up appointment availability and cost
- Response time for medical questions
- Prescribing practices and clinical guidelines adherence
3. Treatment Options and Medications (20% weight)
We evaluate what medications and treatment approaches each provider offers. Providers that offer both brand-name and compounded options, multiple medication types, and personalized treatment plans score higher than those with a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Medication variety (brand-name vs compounded vs generic)
- FDA-approved medications offered
- Personalization of treatment plans
- Dosage adjustment flexibility
- Treatment categories covered
4. Patient Experience and Reviews (20% weight)
We aggregate patient feedback from third-party platforms including Trustpilot, Google Reviews, BBB, and app store ratings. We weight verified purchase reviews higher than anonymous submissions. The review count shown on each provider card represents the total aggregated reviews across these sources at the time of our last data collection.
- Trustpilot rating and review volume
- Google Business Profile rating
- App store ratings (iOS and Android)
- BBB rating and complaint history
- Common themes in negative reviews
5. Platform and Shipping (10% weight)
We evaluate the user experience of each platform: ease of sign-up, mobile app quality, shipping speed, packaging discretion, and availability across US states.
- Website and app usability
- Shipping speed and discreet packaging
- State availability (some providers are limited)
- Customer support responsiveness
- Refill management and subscription flexibility
Where Our Review Data Comes From
The review counts displayed on provider cards (e.g., “33,200 reviews”) are aggregated totals from multiple third-party sources. We collect review data from:
- Trustpilot - verified purchase reviews
- Google Business Profile - location and service reviews
- Apple App Store and Google Play - mobile app ratings
- Better Business Bureau (BBB) - complaint and resolution data
We update review counts periodically. The date of last data collection is shown as the “Last Updated” date on each provider page. We do not fabricate, generate, or incentivize reviews.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not accept payment from providers in exchange for higher ratings
- We do not test medications ourselves or make medical efficacy claims
- We do not guarantee that any provider will be suitable for your condition
- We do not provide medical advice - always consult a licensed healthcare provider
ManyTreatments earns affiliate commissions when you click through to a provider and make a purchase. This financial relationship is disclosed on every page via our Advertising Disclosure. Our ratings are editorially independent - commission rates do not influence scores.
How We Handle Conflicts of Interest
Some providers pay higher affiliate commissions than others. To maintain editorial integrity, our rating methodology is applied uniformly regardless of commission structure. The editorial team that scores providers is separate from the business team that manages affiliate relationships.
How Often We Update
We re-evaluate providers quarterly or when significant changes occur (pricing updates, new medication offerings, regulatory changes, or major review score shifts). Each page shows its last review date. If you notice outdated information, please contact us.
